The SandWiki is a bit like a virtual Museum of Sands, in which you will find scientific compilations and illustrations of all kinds of sands. It meets several objectives:
(1) It serves to bring some systematic order in sand collections (I hope not just mine - CEH),
(2) it It is a computer playground for geology students exploring communicative ways of learning,
(3) it It also has a bit of a scientific ambition: It aims to illustrate underlying reasons for the wide textural and mineralogical variety of natural granular media worldwide, precursors to almost equally varibale sandstones.
