Application/Technical Detailstechnical details:
Centrifugation of samples for 1.5ml to 50ml Tubes and well plates
Requirements:
- All users must gain Gain permission to work in the Biolabs and access to the “Zellbio-users” network drive by attending the Biosafety instructions (--> Katharina Achazi) by follwoing the How-to-Start procedure.
- Get All users must get an introduction to the device by the responsible person (see above).
- DO NOT use the cell culture centrifuges for longer runs (>10min) → → in case you need to centrifuge an extended time (>10min), make sure no one needs them for cell culture during this time. Otherwise use a centrifuge in a chemistry lab
- DO NOT use the cell culture centrifuges for other than biological samples, NO solvents etc. → For non-biological samples use a centrifuge in a chemistry lab
- close Close centrifuge and tube lids during centrifugation
- balance Balance samples for centrifugation before using a balance and place them so that the rotor is in balance
- wait Wait after start until centrifuge reaches full speed → if the centrifuge shakes or is noisy stop immediately
- open Open centrifuge after use and let lid open, so that no condensed water stay inside and cause corrosion
- clean Clean centrifuge after every use
- DO NOT use solvents or other evaporating hazardous substances → use instead a centrifuge in a chemistry lab
- be Be cautious with rotors e.g. during cleaning, exchanging and store them safe
- centrifuges Centrifuges must be cleaned once a month with water and soap and wiped afterwards with 70% ethanol
- centrifuges Centrifuges need to be tested by an authorized service once a year
