Introduction

This game is about teaching children different types of superpowers, and how they can utilize their superpowers to help others. 

Target group and Time

This game can be played by children from 4th to 6th grade. The number of children can range from 4-15 children. The exercise can be played in 15-20 minutes.

Instructions to set up the activity

First the students are to create a "move" to embody their own superpowers. For example: ”invisible” could be represented by a gesture of crossing hands in front of their chest.

Then the students together will do a series of actions with the teacher:

  • a clap on the lap
  • a clap with of the hands
  • a student shouting out his or her own name and doing their own move
  • a clap on the lap
  • a clap with the hands
  • the student shouting a name of another student while doing the move of their counterparts’ superpowers

...

Since the students are now familiar with all the superpowers and their identifying moves, the teacher can create various scenes and ask the students to use their superpower in these scenes. For example: The forest is on fire. How can you use your superpower to put out the fire, ? How can you save the animals, and plant the ? How can you plant trees again?

If the children are advanced, one could the teacher can allow them to create their own scenes. If the children are confused about the languagemeanings of words, the teacher can let other students help with the explanation.
