Windows: Modify Setup

Zusammenfassung

Beim Starten des Safe-Exam-Browsers werden Sie informiert, dass Sie die Applikation nur deinstallieren können (siehe Bild): 

Beschreibung

  • Es handelt sich hierbei um keinen technischen Fehler.
  • Diese Meldung erscheint in den Fällen, in denen Sie die Applikation nicht über den regulären Weg (siehe unten) starten wollen, sondern stattdessen das Installationsprogramm ("SEB_x.y.z_SetupBundle.exe") erneut ausführen wollen. 
  • Das Installationsprogramm erkennt in diesem Fall, dass die Applikation bereits installiert ist und bietet nur eine Deinstallation an.


Falls Sie die Konfigurationsdatei noch nicht installiert haben, müssen Sie diesen Schritt auch noch durchlaufen.

Reguläres Starten des Safe-Exam-Browsers

  1. Bitte drücken Sie die "Windows" Taste auf Ihrer Tastature
  2. Tragen Sie in das kleine Textfeld "Safe Exam Browser" ein
  3. Es sollte nun ein Icon des SEB (vgl. Screenshot) erscheinen, über das Sie den Browser starten können

Windows: ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED (-111)

Zusammenfassung

Die Verbindung zum Prüfungs-Server kann nicht aufgebaut werden, wenn Sie den Proxy-Dienst der Freien Universität Berlin nutzen. 


Workaround
  • Deaktivieren Sie FUB Proxy-Dienste auf Ihrem Gerät während der Prüfungsdurchführung.

Summary

When you start the Safe Exam Browser, a pop-up window informs you that you can merely deinstall the software (see figure below): 

Description

  • This message is not a technical error.
  • The message appears when you don't open the software in the usual way (see below) and instead try to open the installation file again ("SEB_x.y.z_SetupBundle.exe"). 
  • The installation program recognises that the software is already installed on your computer and can only offer the deinstallation of the software.


Regular start of Safe Exam Browser

  1. Please press the "Windows" key on your keyboard.
  2. Type "Safe Exam Browser" in the search bar.
  3. You should now see the icon of the Safe Exam Browser (see screenshot) and can use it to start the software.

If you haven't already installed the provided configuration file you need to do that before using the Safe Exam Browser.

Summary

The connection to the examination server cannot be established while the FU Berlin proxy service is in use.


Workaround
  • Deactivate the FUB proxy service on your computer while you take the exam.
