For the video conference two projection spaces screens are used:
- In one speinem Bereich werden die Teilnehmer/innen der Videokonferenz gezeigt.
- Über eine zweite Projektionsfläche werden die Vortragsfolien sowie die dort eingefügten Annotationen live übertragen.
Die Aufzeichnung der Videokonferenz und die dazugehörigen Materialien werden an jedem Standort auf der eigenen Lernplattform hochgeladen. So können sich die Studierenden die Inhalte auch in der Klausurvorbereitung nutzen.

The recording of the video conference and the related materials are uploaded at the respective location on the own LMS. Thereby the students can also use the content when preparing for the exam.
In the summer semester a face-to-face block seminar will be on offer in Bamberg. Im Sommersemester wird ein Blockseminar in Präsenz in Bamberg angeboten.

Setting up the video conference: Einrichten der Videokonferenz: Die Videokonferenz wird durch Auswahl der voreingestellten Konferenz gestartet. Notwendig ist hierzu, dass die Multi-Control-The video conference is started by selecting the preprepared conference. Necessary for this is that the Multi Control Unit (MCU) in Trier aktiviert ist. Über die „Fernbedienung“ schaltet der übertragende Standort seinen Bildschirminhalt als „Control-Channel“ auf. Die lokalen Mikrofone werden aktiviert, so dass man sich akustisch in einem Raum erlebt. Leider stellt dies sehr hohe Anforderungen an die Qualität des Mikrofons und die Studierenden müssen mit kräftiger Stimme sprechen, um an den anderen Standorten verstanden zu werden. Dies bereitet manchmal Probleme. Über einen weiteren Knopf der Fernbedienung kann dann die Aufzeichnung des Content Channel, des Audiokanals sowie (verkleinert) der Videobilder der Hörsäle aktiviert werden. Diese Funktionalität steht allerdings nur an der FU zur Verfügung. Es gibt allerdings auch Vorbehalte einiger Dozent/innen gegen diese Aufzeichnungen (Rückgang der Teilnehmerpräsenz). Die Studierenden hingegen begrüßen diese zusätzliche Möglichkeit stark. Gerade beim Einsatz von Statistik-Software ist die Dokumentation der Nutzeroberfläche und ihrer Bedienung sehr hilfreich.is activated. Via the "remote control" the transmitting location switches its screen to the "control channel". The local microphones are activated so that one feels acoustically as if everyone is in one room. Sadly this requires a high level of quality with regard to the microphones and the students have to speak with a powerful voice in order to be understood at the other locations. This sometimes causes problems. By using another button of the remote control one can activate the recording of the content channel, the audio channel as well as the (scaled down) video images of the lecture halls. This feature, though, is only available at the FU. There are, however, also reservations by a few of the lectures against these recordings (decrease in the participants' face-to-face involvement). The students on the other hand welcome strongly this additional possibility. Especially when using statistics software, the documentation of the user screens and their operations is very helpful.
Student participation during the video conference: Beteiligung der Studierenden während der Videokonferenz: Ohne Without directly addressing the students direkte Ansprache tendieren die Studierenden dazu, die Konferenzpräsentation wie eine Fernsehsendung zu konsumieren. Es ist absolut notwendig, die Studierenden an den dazu geschalteten Orten direkt anzusprechen. Da die Videokamera in der Regel auf den gesamten Vorlesungsraum ausgerichtet ist, sind die Studierenden relativ klein auf dem Bildschirm der zugeschalteten Teilnehmer/innen. Dies kann zwar über eine variable Fokussierung und Ausrichtung der Videokamera geändert werden, jedoch wird diese Möglichkeit fast nur von Dozenten genutzt.
