Route of Transmission
IBV spreads horizontally among the entire flock through aerosol droplets or ingestion.
Contact with feces and nasal excretions of infected chickens is considered as the major source of viral infection.
The virus can also be transmitted from one flock to another by contaminated drinking water, food and feces.
Indirect transmission occurs via contaminated vehicles, working personnel and equipment.
