The FU Berlin as an employer can only fulfill its tasks in maternity protection if it is informed about an existing pregnancy as early as possible. According to § 15 of the Maternity Protection Act (MuSchG), expectant mothers should inform their employer of their pregnancy and the presumed day of childbirth as soon as they are aware of their condition. Breastfeeding mothers should inform their employer as early as possible that they are breastfeeding. That is, the mother turns to her personnel or employment office.
