The procedure to get access to the OM facility is as described below. Please contact us after finishing the below described procedure:

At present, hands-on instructions for users on any devices are only possible after consultation of the respective group head or device manager. Wearing an FFP2 mask during the training is mandatory. The respective group head of the new user has to sendan email to Katharina Achazi and Marta Maglione confirming that the intro is urgent and needs to take place. It will be good to do a corona test before the intro to confirm that both are negative and in addition it is beneficial if both are vaccinated. However, the time at which two people are together at the microscopy should be as short as possible.
  1. Follow the instructions on the How-to-Start: Biolabs & Optical Microscopy webpage.
  2. Make an appointment with the OM keyuser of your research group, to get practical training (2-3 session with your own samples) & intro in the OM rules and guidelines
  3. After succesfull training, fill and sign the participant introduction list, ask your keyuser to confirm your succesfull training by signature as responsible trainer and send both forms to Katharina Achazi and Ma
  4. as your keyuser needs to introduce you in the BSM, Optical microscopy, the booking system OpenIRIS and the data handling (network) with help of the attached documents.
  5. Watch the mandatory OM video tutorial and the optional video about confocal microscopy.
  6. Read the Guidelines for the Optical Microscopy and the BioSupraMol User Guidelines as well as the SupraFAB House Rules carefully.
  7. Subscribe to the OM Email list. You can use the Email list (om-bsm-suprafab@lists.fu-berlin.de) to sent an Email to all user,
  8. Get training from the keyuser of your research group in person at the confocal microscopes (the Keyuser is responsible, that the new user is introduced properly and needs to join you 2-3 times at least).
  9. After succesfull training, fill and sign the participant introduction list, ask your keyuser to confirm your succesfull training by signature as responsible trainer and send both forms to Katharina Achazi and Marta Maglione.
  10. Register yourself to the booking tool OpenIRIS; follow carefully step-by-step the discription and hand-outs in the BSM page for getting started, registering, and booking devices and services.
  11. Ask you keyuser to add your zedat account to the BCP-storage in the MI portal.
